Hotel Emeline

Last weekend, my girlfriend Venita and I took a staycation with Charleston’s newest Hotel Emeline.  From the social media posts I couldn’t wait to see the property, and it didn’t disappoint – boasting the most beautiful lobby in all of Charleston. Hotel Emeline has set the bar with posh decor and moody, photo-ready corners.

Open the lobby doors to a cozy living room with a record collection ready to vibe, and Clerk’s Coffee Company across the room.  We had breakfast at Clerk’s both mornings and it’s the perfect place to escape the home office and work for a while.  The chai latte was perfect, as was the peach granola that I’ve now wanted every morning since.

The guest services staff welcomed us and snapped a Polaroid, handed us a welcome cocktail and showed off the property and up to our suites that looked straight out of Paris.  From the velvet headboard and couch to the canning on the wardrobe and dresser, I felt like I was back in Europe.  The bathrooms were renovated to perfection, AKA they have a bath tub and it’s fabulous.

Located in the heart of downtown, Venita and I were within walking distance or a short pedicab away from everywhere we wanted to be.  Down the street favorites are 167 Raw, Bin 152 and Off Track Ice Cream.  We also did a little shopping at Hampden Clothing, Croghan’s Jewel Box and Cos Bar.

A dinner at Frannie and the Fox, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, was just what we needed on Saturday night.  Amazing pizza, meatballs, olives and wine served right by their beautiful terrace.  Be sure to walk through the hallway and find the button for cocktail service and watch some pizza get whipped up by the chefs.

Hotel Emeline is beyond beautiful and the perfect spot for working, a cocktail or dinner even if you’re not a hotel guest.  The property is now on my short list of accommodation recommendations for everyone traveling to Charleston.  We truly loved our stay and fell in love with our city all over again.  Well done, Hotel Emeline – from the decor to the restaurant to your staff, it was a pleasure.

xx, P
